We don't limit you to a few finishes, but we don't sell just anything either: every material we offer has proven itself in Quebec's climate. Our designers help you choose the one that suits your room, your use and your budget.
Why we no longer offer solid wood, veneer or lacquered MDF
These materials react strongly to changes in humidity, and in Quebec those changes are extreme: in a heated home, relative humidity often drops below 30% in winter (Health Canada and CMHC recommend staying between 30 and 50%, and CMHC even advises 30% or less when it is −10 °C outside), then climbs back to 60 or 70% in summer. Wood swells and shrinks with every swing: joints open, doors warp, lacquer cracks. UV rays also alter the colour of stains, varnishes and lacquers after only a few years of exposure, so replacing a single door becomes impossible: it would look different from the others. Finally, the durability of these materials remains fragile despite their high cost. We therefore chose to offer polyester, polymer and new-generation melamine, with maximum resistance to scratches and UV, and which don't move with humidity.
